Crow’s Feet/ Laugh Line Removal

Crow’s feet (laugh lines or character lines), scientifically called orbicularis oculi contractions, are clusters of lines and wrinkles spreading out from your eyes’ corners and appearing like a crow’s footprints. You may find them beautiful when you’re young. But with age, they become permanent laugh lines that can be treated. Here is everything that you need to know.
Crow’s feet are expression wrinkles formed over time due to repetitive facial muscle contractions from daily expressions like frowning, smiling or squinting. In the younger years, crow’s feet appear only during the muscle contraction since your skin is more elastic and can snap back. However, with ageing, your skin loses elasticity leading to the permanent appearance of crow’s feet (static crow’s feet) even when you’re expressionless. These lines may also look more prominent and deeper due to a lack of collagen or other skin proteins.
We offer both non-surgical (topical skincare products, neuromodulators, dermal fillers, chemical peels) and surgical procedures (micro-needling, laser resurfacing) to treat crow’s feet. Botox and dermal fillers are mostly used for our patients. Sometimes we employ a combination of treatments to get the desired and most satisfactory results. Consult our expert for the best procedure to suit your case as per your requirements and expectations.
  • Topical skincare products
If your laugh lines are fine with moderate wrinkles, we can treat them by prescribing topical products like certain serums and eye creams containing ingredients like Vitamin C, hyaluronic acid and retinol. They remove your dead skin cells and encourage new cell growth, preventing further ageing of your skin. So the wrinkles even out.
  • Neuromodulators
We may also inject a neurotoxin like Botox (mostly), Xeomin or Dysport for decreasing the appearance of mild laugh lines. It relaxes your facial muscles (whose contraction causes wrinkles) by obstructing neuron signals from your brain to your treated muscle. It’s a rapid, safe and almost painless therapy. Best of our results last long and are often prominent within 2 weeks post-therapy.
  • Dermal fillers
We mostly inject fillers like Juvederm or Restylane (with hyaluronic acid) directly into your laugh lines and surrounding areas for smoothening them and plumping the skin. These are specifically effective to treat static crow’s feet. This non-surgical procedure has little-to-zero recovery time and gives instant effective results.
  • Chemical peels
We topically apply chemical peels for deeply exfoliating the top dermal layers. This enables a controlled and even shedding of your skin cells. New skin layers get exposed, producing a smoother skin texture and fresher look. Peels vary according to the concerns they address and their strength. Our experts will tailor the peel to your particular requirements.
  • Micro-needling (Collagen induction)
We provide micro-needling with a handheld dermapen for creating micro-tears in your skin. Thus your skin’s natural healing begins the production of new elastin and collagen which thickens your skin, reducing laugh lines and other wrinkles. It also creates channels to enhance the effectiveness of topical products by allowing fuller absorption and deeper penetration.
  • Laser resurfacing
We also offer laser resurfacing (skin clear therapy or laser peel) by using highly concentrated microscopic laser beams for removing precise layers of affected skin in a targeted, controlled manner. It can treat your skin surrounding the laugh lines and eliminate the dull, old top dermal layers, restarting the production of elastin and collagen. This promotes skin firmness and quality. Some of our popular resurfacing lasers are Clear+Brilliant, ActiveFX and Fraxel.
